Trying to Find Our Childhood Again

Recently, Hubby and I were talking about some of the things that we used to do as kids that we never do anymore. We made a list of things that seemed like magical moments from our childhood and we have spent the last two weeks doing them to see if that same magic is still there. I want to share them with you one at a time.

Saturday Morning Cartoons

So, the first thing Dan put on the list was getting up early to watch Saturday morning cartoons and eating sugary cereal to his heart's content. So, we went to the store and we both bought a box of cereal that we used to love as kids along with some other groceries that we were out of, including milk. When Saturday morning came around, we had to use the alarm to get up at 6 AM to go watch our cartoons. As a kid, we only had a few channels and they all pretty much had cartoons on Saturdays. Now we have cable, and the regular channels don't even carry cartoons. We ended up watching Nickelodeon and the Cartoon Network for a few hours and eating cereal. Honestly, we were pretty over the cereal after the first bowl and cartoons just couldn't keep our attention. We both dozed off on the couch eventually. Experiment failed.

Sunday Morning Breakfast Smorgasbord

When I was a kid, every Sunday my aunt and uncle would make every breakfast food imaginable and we would all go over to their house to eat it. They would make eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, crepes, cut-up pieces of fruit and tons of other stuff. We decided to try to replicate this childhood memory of mine by going to an early morning breakfast buffet with as many family members as possible in tow. It wouldn't have been as nice if we had needed to prepare the food ourselves. Although it kind of sucks getting up that early on a weekend, the buffet was actually really good and I would say that this activity had almost the same magic as it did for me as a kid.To gather additional details on moon pod chair please head to Bean Bag Covers.

Beanbag Chairs & Movie Nights

This is another favorite memory of mine. When I was a kid, we had a bunch of beanbag chairs in the family room that everyone would lay on and watch movies. We loved those beanbag chairs. So, Hubby and I decided to buy a couple. He bought one at Walmart, but I was concerned about how comfortable it would be as an adult and I looked for something a little more sophisticated. Luckily, I found a beanbag chair that was a lot more advanced than I ever expected to find. It's called The Moonpod It's easy to get into, can be rolled into a sitting position with back support, and is extremely comfortable.Sofor me, this was pretty amazing. However, by the time the movie was over, my husband was regretting having spent so little time selecting his own beanbag chair and walking bent over like an old man with lumbago. So, it's a toss-up.
